Doing well
Saw my doc today after work. He and I are both happy with the results
of my titrating off one of my meds. Four more days and I'll be off it
completely! Now for the other seven... :)
I'm starting to really
look forward to Desert Magic. From all that my friends in ADF have told
me, it should be quite an event. I'll try not to fall asleep during one
of the classes this time. :)
I'm very happy that qorinda gave
me a cord to use for my Cernunnos pendant. I've been looking forward to
wearing it ever since I purchased it at Medieval Madness.
Not much more to say today. So...
OGHAM: Alder - A strong foundation. Moral Strength and Courage. Behave with honor, no matter how difficult. RUNE: GIFU
- A partnership of some sort, in business or love, perhaps. May also
symbolize a gift or some sort of generosity coming into my life.
And now for your viewing pleasure, Cernunnos as he appears on my pendant (just put a circle around him):

Interesting 10 day countdown
Well, I saw my doc again yesterday and we decided that after 12 years
or so it was time to detox me off one of my medications. Starting
today, and for the next 10 days, I'll be titrating off the med. I am
being closely followed by the doctor and can bring the medication back
up to a therapeutic level if things are going too quickly. It should
make for an interesting week and a half.
The
New Moon ritual last night went well. It was a cozy group and made for
just the right level of informality. Our working dealt with attracting
new members to the Grove. I contributed Meadowsweet, that interested
people would find the joy and peace that comes with finding a place
(hopefully the Grove) that really clicks. That and Aine, goddess of the
moon, is associated with Meadowsweet and legend has it that she is
responsible for giving it its sweet smell.
I had a thought that
since we hold the New Moon ritual at Los Olivos Park, which, as you can
imagine, is full of olive trees. I wondered if gathering olives,
pressing them, and using the oil as the sacred oil in ritual might
bring our association with the park full circle. (I hope I'm making
sense)
We're getting cooler nights. I keep the doors and windows
open at night and snooze quite well in the fresh air (once I'm able to
fall asleep.)
Without further ado, for your viewing pleasure: A beautiful old Olive Tree!
Missing work tomorrow
In the continuing saga of my med changes, my doc wants to see me
tomorrow. The only time he could book me is when I would normally be
teaching one of my classes. So much for work tomorrow!
Glad
the temperature's finally heading downwards. Might even get below
average by the end of the week (70 degrees). Here's hoping.
Still
taking care of my friends' pets. They PIX message me every day to rub
in how much fun they're having. I respond with a pic of their pets and
a note as to how much they're missing them. Gotta guilt them somehow
for those pictures!
New Moon Ritual tomorrow night at Los Olivos
Park. I guess having the ritual at our Senior Druid's house didn't
really work (and probably put added stress on her.) I don't know if
this is a permanent location change, but at least I know where the park
is.
Finally picked up a scented wax burner for the living room.
I'm using up that excess wax that doesn't get evaporated at the bottom
of Yankee Candle jars. Working quite well and I like my living room
smelling like Vanilla.
Not much more for today, so...
Castings Rune: URUZ reversed - May have failed to take advantage of a moment. Weak willpower. Perhaps a decline in vitality. Ogham: HOLLY - Creating balance. Ability and willingness to fight for justice and right wrongs. Time to act with strength and vigor.

End of the weekend It sure has been a long time since I've posted here. What's been happening...mostly stuff from this past week or so.
Went
to The Grove of the Rising Phoenix's Medieval Madness weekend. Had a
wonderful time and met some great new people. Was a bit embarrassed
when I fell asleep for part of the ADF Vice-Archdruid's class. Loved
what I caught of it! We also all seemed to have a great time sitting
around the campfire singing, drinking and generally enjoying life. Then
Sunday we all went to the Renaissance Faire. I'd say a good time was
had by all. I am out of practice camping; stiff every morning. Friends
from this site including skullarix, qorinda and agent23 (I hope I got his handle right).
My
docs are messing with my meds again. Hate the rollercoaster feeling
when they change. And now, I'm supposed to keep out of direct sunlight
and excessive heat. HELLO?? This is Arizona, after all! Well, I'll just
keep riding the coaster and hope that things level out soon. Sick of
the blood work!
This past Saturday was St. Patrick's Day, so I
was there like a good Frenchman helping out as a volunteer and manning
the Grove's booth until the heat got to me. Didn't even get to really
browse the vendors. Had to find air conditioning!
Taking care of
my friends' pets this weekend while they're vacationing in Texas.
Probably cooler there. Means two trips a day to their house, but I
don't mind in the least; they've been very good to me over the years.
Well, I'm about 4 days behind on email and it's time to tackle it! So...
Castings: Rune - ISA - Delay. Cessation of Activities. Cooling trend in a relationship. Ogham - BLACKTHORN - Strength in adversity. Persist through difficult times.
And now, for your viewing pleasure, a Medieval Madness pinball machine!

No sooner do I tell someone that I post here almost every day than I
fall off the face of the earth! Everything's fine; my mind was just in
a different place for a while. Now I'm back.
Saw
Phoenix Theatre's production of GUYS AND DOLLS last Wednesday. Show
needs a lot more polish. I think I may have been there opening night.
This
past Friday, I saw George Lopez in concert at the Dodge Theatre. The
performance was broadcast live on HBO. I TiVO'ed it so I can scan
through every millisecond to see if the cameras got me. (Partially
joking here)
Saturday was the Scottish Highland Games in Tempe.
I attended from 0830 to 1300. A fun time, and I had a nice lunch of
Haggis. Then it was off to my parents, to install the new computer
system that I had built for my mother. That took half the night. She's
pretty much a neophyte, so the information curve was very steep. Now I
get helpdesk questions from my mother on my cell!
I bit the
bullet and booked plane and hotel in order to go to Wellspring in late
May. I'll be on the same flights as two of my Grove friends, both of
whom have experienced Wellspring. It looks to be a great time. I hope
our Senior Druid, who is still on the fence, decides to go.
And now, for your viewing pleasure, Julian, as Druid 2, invokes the fire.
Phoenix Moon ~ Ban D...Stopping by to wish you a wonderful weekend.
